DOJANG RULES

 

1.      GENERAL

 

1.1  On entering and leaving the Dojang please bow as a sign of respect to those instructing you and those other students present;

 

1.2  Bow to instructors at a proper distance and address them as Sir and Miss;

 

1.3  Exchange greetings between students;

 

1.4  Do not drink while wearing your belt (ti);

 

1.5  Do not eat while wearing your uniform (dobok);

 

1.6  When adjusting your dobok in class, please turn to face the back of the room;

 

1.7  If you are late attending a class wait at the back of the dojang until acknowledged;

 

1.8  When doing pair work, bow when instructed to as a sign of mutual respect and to apologize in advance if any accidents occur;

 

1.9  Students must not leave the dojang without permission;

 

1.10          Keep uniforms clean at all times;

 

1.11          Never lose your temper in training;

 

1.12          No whistling, swearing or idle chatter;

 

1.13          Finger and toe nails must be kept short and clean;

 

1.14          No jewellery to be worn during training;

 

1.15          Chewing gum is prohibited; and

 

1.16          Do not use the words “I can’t”;

 

 

2.    WHEN IN LINE

 

2.1    Line up in grade order with the most senior grade in the top right hand corner;

 

2.2    When entering a line ahead of another student after it has been formed both students should bow to each other as a sign of respect;

 

2.3    If you aren't wearing your dobok or belt then line up as you would as a white belt; and

 

2.4    While in lines, stay in line with the senior grade on your right;

 

These traditional rules are to make your training more effective and for the safety of yourself and others.
